    The Harris County Flood Control District invites the public to a meeting on Sept. 25 from p.m. at the Harris County Precinct 3 Bear Creek Community Center, Bear Creek Drive, Houston. It is the intersection of two channels, where the outfall of one channel flows into another channel (i.e., where Cypress Creek flows into Spring Creek). What is meant by the term Year Flood, Base Flood, or 1% Flood? A year floodplain is an area of land that has a 1% chance of being inundated by floodwaters in a given year.

      Flood stage for Cypress Creek is eight feet. The river was measured at nine feet as of 9 a.m. Wednesday. The waterway is expected to crest at near feet by Saturday morning then recede. Datum of gage changed from 70 ft above NGVD , adjustment to NAVD , adjustment, on Oct. 1, New datum is ft below previous datum.

      The effort involves county agencies, the nonprofit Cypress Creek Flood Control Coalition, and some 60 municipal utility districts serving neighborhoods in the creek's watershed.
